Under 10 Boys Intramural Program

U10 Boys teams play "in-house" against other Hempfield Soccer Club Intramural U10 teams. If the opportunity to play other Lancaster County teams who play 8v8 format presents itself, those games may be scheduled at the discretion of the Director. The composition of teams may be revised after the fall season, depending on the number of players who sign up and ability of those players. Coaches are to provide the opportunity to players to play and learn a variety of positions. Individual player development remains the focus of the program. Instruction also includes some beginning tactics and team concepts.

Spring 2008 Season Summary: All players should be notified of their team placement by mid-March. Practices begin in late March. First game day is April 5th and last game day is May 31st. Games are generally played on Saturday mornings.

Directions to fields and maps for Hempfield Soccer Club Fields and team practice field assignments will be posted in late August.

Hempfield Soccer Club's U10 intramural program is based on the Official 8v8 Program recommended by USYSA.

Laws of the Game: Modified
Roster Size: About 12 players
Field Players: 8 players on the field during the game (including goalkeeper)
Playing Time: All players play at least 50% of the total playing time
Ball size: 4
Games: Saturday Mornings
Practices: Two, 1 hour 15 minute evening practice twice per week
Fall Season: Begins the first weekend after Labor Day and runs for 8 weeks
Spring Season: Begins in early April or the first weekend after Easter and runs for 8 weeks
