Results from the Harrisburg 7's Event:

The Knightswarm, an all-star team comprised of the top players from the Hempfield Knightmare and Warwick Swarm High Scool girls rugby teams won the Under-19 girls division of the Harrisburg 7's Rugby tournament.   

The Knightswarm defeated West Shore 15-10 in the first match. Scoring for the Knightswarm were Heidi Burkhart (5), Julia Hershey (5), and Shaina Krick (5). In the Championship match against Harrisburg, the Knightswarm won behind scoring from Krick (12), Payce Madden (5), and Danielle Chism (5).

"Happy Mothers Day Mom!  Love ya.   Gotta get to the pitch now" 

Mom's all over Lancaster county heard this on Sunday as the Hempfield Knightmares and the Warwick Swarm H S Rugby Clubs hosted the Amishland Ruggerfest.  Six teams from the Harrisburg District merged on East Pete to play the game they love.  All the teams had a great time and enjoyed a tournament atmosphere. 

There was some high level rugby played today as the weather seemed to move through 3 seasons in one day.  State College, with the number one seed took advantage of a first round bye and handled Hempfield 20-0.  On the other side of the championship Bracket, Warwick was moving into the finals with a 19-10 win over York.

After nine games, the State College Rugby Club took the honors.  But, in this event, everybody won. They showed respect for the game and each other.

"During the game it's like sooo intense and when it's over we shake hands and hang out.  It's pretty cool." 

"Never experienced anything like this in all the sports I've played."

"Rugby is the team sport. We have a great time on and off the field"

140 high school boys came away with some great memories and new friendships.
