WELCOME TO HSC PREMIER AND TRAVELCONGRATULATIONS!
2008 Jefferson Cup Champions! Congrats to the HSC Kixx U10 Girls. A superb weekend of soccer! And a tremendous display of teamwork - eight different girls contributing to the weekend scoring, rock solid defense allowing only three goals all weekend, midfielders and forwards moving the ball beautifully down the field. The girls dug deep within themselves in the Championship Game after going down 3-2 to come back & score four quick goals to win 6-3. Mia Hamm once said, "I am a member of a team, and I rely on the team, I defer to it and sacrifice for it, because the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion." The girls proved Mia correct in this tournament that is ranked 5th in the nation for girls. Way to go KIXX! The KIXX would also like to congratulate the boys U10 Phantoms for their 2008 Jefferson Cup Championship!
The HSC Phantoms U10 Boys team win the Jefferson Cup! The boys competed against many fine teams in the Superior division to bring home the Championship trophy. This prestigious tournament is held annually in Richmond, Virginia. The team defeated FASA Fire (VA) in the final 4-1. The Phantoms, coached by Seamus Donnelly, HSC's DOC, said the boys had a tremendous weekend and played great soccer!
The HSC Power U-14 girls indoor team went 8-0 in the U-14 Premiere Division at Lanco Fieldhouse in the Winter 2 league. The girls scored 59 goals and allowed 13 and played some beautiful soccer that had the Fieldhouse buzzing and asking- "Who are those girls?"
The Boys HSC U18 United won the EPYSA Indoor Aspiring Champions Cup U19 division! The tournament was held on Saturday evening January 5th at the Iron Lakes facility in Allentown.
The Championship match with Lighthouse ended 1-1 in regulation with no one scoring in the golden goal overtime.
The penalty kick phase went on for 20 minutes with the United winning 18-17.
The team put together an incredible tournament winning every match that evening.
This is the last year that this team will be together since most are graduating in the Spring.
It took us 8 years but we finally won a State Championship!
Congratulations ODP Players! HSC is very pleased to announce that a number of players in your club have been selected to play for their age appropriate ODP (Olympic Development Program) teams. The ODP program identifies the best players in each state, and provides training and competition vs. players from other regions. Players are selected via a highly competitive tryout process. HSC is very pleased to announce the following players and their selection.

Three straight wins against Council Rock, Wyoming Valley and the Ukranian Nationals put the girls all the way through to the final where they lost a tough match to a very good HMMS team. This gave them the overall league title and a season ending league record of 7-1 with 32 goals for and 14 goals against. Great season Phantoms, another gold winning performance! U-14 HSC Power- Premiere Division Champs- FC Beach Tournament. Injuries and illness have ravaged the HSC Power in the fall season and left with only 12 healthy players the Power made the 6 hour drive to Virginia Beach to compete in the FC Beach Columbus day tournament. The beach is always nice when it is hot and humid, but those conditions make it tough to compete in 4 soccer matches in 2 days with only 12 girls. Nonetheless the Power came away champions of the Premiere Division of the tournament beating HMMS (Harrisburg, PA) 3-0 in the semifinal before beating Chesterfield, Virginia 2-1 (ranked #19 in Virginia) in the final. Congratulations to the twelve girls (pictured below) who overcame the conditions and some tough opposition to claim the tournaments top prize for the 24 U-14 girls teams entered in the tournament.
U-15 HSC Fire - CPYSC Champions. The Fire girls were ready to travel to Maryland this season and pursue new competition only to be disappointed with the cancellation of the tournament. Scrambling to find a replacement, they decide to stay close and enter the Campbelltown-Palmyra Soccer Blast. The Fire was asked to fill a position in the top Bracket of three and accepted the challenge. The bracket consisted of 2 U16 teams and 3 U-15 teams that they recently played in league games. They stepped up to the challenge and came out on top. With a disappointing, but well played, loss to Penn United in the first game 4-2. The Fire has been the only team to score any goals against this team. They came back in the second game to battle the U-16 Lititz team and pulled out a phenomenal 4-1 win. Going into a semi final, in 2nd place, they were up against the 1st place U-16 Ephrata team. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. It then moved on to penalty kicks where our #1 goalie, Mirah Smith, again steps up and does a fantastic job!!! The Fire won the tie breaker by two goals thanks to Mirah's great saves! The final was played against HMMS rebels less than 11/2 hours later. HMMS scores the first goal but for the Fire it's still 0-0. The Fire comes back alive with a goal to tie it at halftime 1-1. Wanting to walk away with the win, the Fire girls push through the second half to score 2 more goals and lock in the game 3-1. WAY TO GO U-15 HEMPFIELD FIRE!!!!!!!
The U10 HSC PHANTOMS finished first at the West Mont "Battle at Hilltop" Soccer Tournament on August 25-26, 2007. The team outscored their opponents 24-1 and defeated CRUSA Stars 1-0 in the finals to capture the Division 1 Championship.
Congratulations to Lauren Trower, the goalkeeper for the U14 HSC Power! Lauren was named to the Regional ODP team at the end of the ODP camp the week of July 23rd. Some members of the U12 HSC Avalanche entered the Cape Express Beach Blast Tournament in Wildwood, NJ. They won all 3 games of pool play defeating the Phoenix Force PA 6-0, Valley Thunderbolts PAE 4-0 and the Fishtown AC Force 5-1. That set up a meeting in the final with a team from Newark, NJ - Ironbound Liberty. After falling behind by 2 goals the girls fought their way back to an exciting 4-2 come from behind victory with the winning goal coming from Mackenzie Nolan on a 20 yard blast from the sand late in the final period. This meant that all team members scored at least one goal over the weekend!! Members of the team were Sarah Ferguson, Alexa Landis, Kelsey Nolan, Lindsay Johns, Savannah Conroy, Alexa Stubenrauch, Mackenzie Nolan, Coach Paul Stubenrauch and Coach Scott Landis. The team wishes to thank the parents, Wes Nolan and Scott Landis for all their support during the weekend. It was perfect and we had a blast!!
A HEMPFIELD PRIDE moment! On June 23rd and 24th the HSC girls U9 KIXX entered their first Beach Blast Tournament in Wildwood, NJ. The girls were broken up into two separate teams of seven and were entered in two different U9 brackets at the Division I level. Each team played 4 games (including the Championship game) against teams from New Jersey, and Maryland. These girls played their hearts out in the sand and the heat, not to mention in their bare feet. After a very exhausting weekend each team won their respective brackets and brought home two Championships to their Hempfield Club. Great thanks goes out to all of the friends and families who shared in this fantastic display of soccer on the beach, but most importantly we thank the relentless coaching efforts of Rossi, who by the way ran from field to field to make sure he was involved with ALL of his girls, Wes Nolan, and Chris Ackerman. These girls had a wonderful experience and it wouldn't have been possible without the support of their coaches and families. Thanks girls for giving us a performance we will never forget!

Congratulations to HSC's Director of Coaching and Player Development, Seamus Donnelly! Seamus recently traveled to Florida to attend the residential Advanced NSCAA National Coaching course. Following a rigorous 50 hours of classroom and on the field training and instruction, candidates are evaluated and put through a series of written exams and on the field tests. Seamus successfully passed and received his NSCAA Advanced National Coaching Diploma! Congrats Seamus! (Jan 2007) Over the course of two weekends coach Gary Ross had the unusual honor of having three of his Hempfield Soccer Club Girls premiere teams reach the semi-finals of the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association’s Aspiring Champion’s (Highest Level) Indoor State Cup. On January 6th Gary coached the Under 13 HSC Power against a group of 24 of the state’s best U-13 teams in Jessup, PA. After beating teams from LDC United (Harrisburg), FC Revolution (Reading), Montgomery Soccer Club and Stroudsburg the girls lost a tough 1-0 game in the semi-finals against Teysa (Wayne). On the same day at Lancaster’s Red Rose Arena the Under 9 HSC Kixx beat teams from Lower Merion and West Chester, but a 2-2 tie against eventual champion CRUSA (Council Rock) after surrendering a goal in the final seconds and a loss in the tiebreaking formula kept them from the final. A week later on January 13th in Palmyra the Under 14 HSC Blaze beat teams from Radnor, Warminster, Wilson (Reading), and Wyoming Valley before losing a tough 2-1 semi final match to eventual champion HMMS (Harrisburg). With the level of competition so high for premiere girls soccer programs statewide in Pennsylvania it is an honor for a coach and a club to have one team achieve such outstanding results, but to have three teams do it over the course of 7 days is indeed remarkable. Girls Travel and Premier teams for the Fall 2006 season had 68 wins, 25 losses and 19 ties with 4 league championships. Congrats girls! For further information please contact Lee Kasun (Hempfield Soccer Club Girl’s Travel Director) at leekasun@msn.com or by calling 587-8855.
